Placement Process

Each family completes our electronic application which will help us learn about your family and childcare requirements.

We then conduct a consultation where we are able to learn more than what you were able to communicate in your application. Our consult gives us the opportunity to get a sense of you and your family and allows us to provide extra tips that will help you have a successful search.

You are provided a set of sample interview questions, tax information, sample offer letter/job description and helpful interviewing suggestions.

Next, we begin a customized search for your family. Our sources for attracting high caliber candidates for your position include internet advertising, nanny referral programs,  local university recruiting and our extensive nanny database.

We review hundreds of candidates and select approximately 5-7% of the candidates for in-person interview.  Prior to our interview, the candidate will complete an extensive application that will provide family background, childcare work experience and the level of understanding of safe, loving and interactive childcare.

Once an interview has been done and the candidate has demonstrated superior qualifications, reference checks are completed and documented prior to scheduling the family interview. Your family then receives a copy of the nanny application and interview/ reference summaries in advance of your scheduled interview.

When a family decides to hire a given candidate, the offer is first verbally discussed and contingent on a successful background investigation. Once completed, we require that each family complete an offer letter/job description which outlines all aspects of their nanny’s pay, duties & responsibilities.

Colorado Nanny, Inc. will stay in touch with both the family and nanny for the first 60-90 of employment to confirm initial satisfaction with the relationship and to provide assistance if needed for building a lasting partnership.
